Hiring : Database Administrator IV (Hybrid Data Platform | Vector DBs | RDBMS | Search Engines)

Experience : 8–10+ years

We’re looking for an experienced

Database Administrator IV

to lead our database function as we evolve a modern hybrid data platform that spans

traditional RDBMS ,

search engines , and emerging

vector databases .

In this senior role, you’ll drive database architecture, performance, and reliability across mission-critical systems while mentoring a growing DBA team and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders across engineering, data, and product.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the

design, development, and implementation

of enterprise-scale database systems aligned with business goals.

Drive

performance tuning, indexing, and optimization

for efficient data access and low-latency operations.

Implement and maintain strong

data security, encryption, access controls , and perform regular audits.

Own

backup, restore, and disaster recovery

strategies to ensure business continuity.

Proactively monitor databases, troubleshoot issues, and minimize downtime.

Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and software developers on

data pipelines, analytics, and application integrations .

Mentor and guide junior DBAs, fostering technical growth and cross-team collaboration.

Support

embedding refresh workflows , vector-aware governance, and search engine integration.

Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending improvements to the data platform.

Required Skills & Experience

8–10 years of experience in

database administration

with expertise across relational and NoSQL systems.

Deep hands-on experience with

MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server .

Strong SQL,

query tuning , and performance optimization skills.

Solid understanding of

GDPR, CCPA , and industry security best practices.

Proven experience with

database backup and disaster recovery

processes.

Familiarity with

cloud databases

(AWS RDS, Azure SQL, etc.).

Knowledge of

vector databases , embedding workflows, semantic search, and hybrid search methods.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple parallel priorities.
