About Role :

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior IoT Embedded QA Engineer to lead and drive quality assurance efforts for our IoT products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating the reliability, security, functionality, and performance of embedded software and hardware components within IoT devices. The Senior IoT Embedded QA Engineer will collaborate closely with Smart Buildings team to develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, identify potential issues, and contribute to enhancing the overall quality of our IoT solutions.

Brief about Smart Buildings

Smart Buildings is home to group of talented IoT engineers, managers, and product owner, responsible for devising intelligent algorithms and realizing them in real world through development for smart IoT sensors. These IoT sensors are at the core of Freespace’s technology offering to make office buildings smarter and more employee friendly.

Key responsibilities :

1. Develop and implement robust test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for IoT devices and embedded systems.

2. Design, develop, and execute automated tests to validate the functionality, interoperability, and security of IoT solutions.

3. Collaborate with software and hardware engineers to identify, isolate, and document issues related to embedded systems in IoT devices.

4. Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, providing guidance and expertise in IoT embedded systems testing methodologies.

5. Participate in architectural discussions and provide input to ensure testability and quality considerations are addressed from the early stages of IoT product development.

6. Conduct thorough root cause analysis for identified defects and drive corrective actions to improve product quality.

7. Utilize industry-standard tools and techniques for IoT embedded systems testing and contribute to the enhancement of the testing infrastructure.

8. Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in IoT, embedded systems, and quality assurance methodologies.

Skill sets we require :

1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

2. Proven experience 6-8 years as a QA Engineer, with a focus on IoT embedded systems testing.

3. Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C / C++, Python, or similar languages used in IoT embedded systems.

4. In-depth knowledge of IoT architectures, protocols, communication standards, and security considerations.

5. Experience with test automation frameworks / tools for IoT embedded systems (e.g., Robot Framework, pytest, Jenkins, etc.).

6. Leadership skills to lead a team, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

7. Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for delivering high-quality IoT products.

8. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools.
