Role Overview
The Specialist CFD will lead the aerodynamic and CFD simulation work for Atomberg s home appliance products, including ceiling fans, pedestal fans, chimneys, mixer grinders, and new product lines. The role involves running CFD studies from concept to detailed design, identifying risks early, and recommending physics-based design improvements. The specialist must have strong CFD fundamentals, hands-on experience with commercial solvers, and the ability to work independently in fast-moving environments. The role also requires practical experience with turbulence models, rotating machinery (MRF), airfoils, FSI, aero-acoustics, CAD geometry manipulation, and Python-based automation.
Core Responsibilities
The Specialist CFD will be responsible for leading all CFD, aerodynamic, and aero-thermal simulations across Atomberg products.
This includes performing end-to-end CFD analyses using ANSYS Fluent or StarCCM+ at concept, feasibility, design refinement, and validation stages. The specialist will identify aerodynamic and design risks during early conceptualization and recommend solutions rooted in first principles.
They will validate CFD predictions with experimental data and address simulation test deviations. The role also involves conducting aero-acoustic simulations to help reduce product noise and performing FSI simulations where aerodynamic and structural responses interact.
The specialist will handle CAD geometry preparation and modifications using tools like SpaceClaim, and they must be able to apply and justify various turbulence models such as k- , k- SST, and transition models. Experience with airfoils and rotating blade aerodynamics is required, along with the ability to automate CFD workflows through Python scripting for tasks such as batch simulations and parametric studies. The specialist will mentor CFD, CAE, and thermal engineers to maintain high simulation standards and will extensively use the Multiple Reference Frame (MRF) method and other rotating machinery techniques to simulate fan and impeller systems accurately.
