Job Title : Manager – Merchandising

Department : Marketing / Trade Marketing

Location : [Kolkata]

Reporting To : National Sales Head / Trade Marketing Head

  • Duracell Batteries
  • Disano (FMCG – Food & Oils)
  • Karein Diapers (Baby & Adult Care Segment)

Job Purpose :

To develop and execute merchandising and visibility strategies for assigned brands across general trade channels to ensure optimal brand presence, visibility, and consumer engagement at the point of sale.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Merchandising Strategy & Execution

  • Plan and implement annual and monthly merchandising calendars for all three brands.
  • Ensure effective planogram implementation, shelf space management, and visibility norms.
  • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to drive in-store brand communication and promotions.
  • Design and deploy POSM (Point of Sale Materials) as per brand guidelines.
  • 2. Channel & Store Management

  • Monitor merchandising execution across General Trade (GT) channel.
  • Manage third-party merchandising agencies and promoters to ensure compliance and productivity.
  • Develop visibility plans customized for each channel.
  • Ensure proper placement and replenishment of display units.
  • 3. Brand Visibility & Promotion

  • Conceptualize and execute consumer activation programs and trade promotions.
  • Track competition visibility, schemes, and merchandising trends.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team for thematic branding and seasonal campaigns.
  • 4. Data Management & Analysis

  • Track and analyze merchandising KPIs – visibility ROI, outlet coverage, share of shelf, and display compliance.
  • Prepare MIS reports for management review.
  • Utilize market intelligence to improve merchandising effectiveness.
  • 5. Team & Vendor Management

  • Manage a team of merchandisers, supervisors, and promoters.
  • Handle vendor selection, negotiations, and performance evaluations.
  • Train and motivate field merchandising staff for effective in-store execution.
