(Immediate Start) Database Engineer- Aurora and Mysql

Database Engineer - MYSQL, AWS Aurora

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent years of work experience
• 7+ years of software development and design experience
• Experience with Cloud managed DBs like Aurora and deep knowledge of MySQL
• Extensive commercial database development experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL or similar
• Experience development and deployment on AWS cloud infrastructure provider
• Experience with distributed systems and event orchestration and management
• Proven experience working within a low latency, high concurrency and high throughput environment.
• Strong performance monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects with independent deadlines and deliverables.
• Self-motivator who works well in a team or as an individual.
• Clear, concise, and effective verbal and written communicator with ability to explain and evangelize complex ideas clearly across org boundaries
• As a database engineer on the operations team of the Software Development function, you will provide day to day operational support to live production system running on Aurora on the AWS Cloud infrastructure.
• You will optimize tables and provide architectural guidance to the teams in the field of data, as well as help to manage the quality of database work across the product.
• Ensure the upkeep and ongoing maintenance of the database systems across the various environments supporting the platform.
• Support team use cases responsible for building low latency data and database solutions for a variety of business needs.
• Develop database tooling and code to maintain and enhance a wide variety of integrations and experiences offered on the platform.
• Write robust functions, procedures and scripts using SQL
• Assist in the continuous improvement and maintenance of Datawarehouse and Database systems.
