General Work Scope
The Unit Head of Manufacturing is responsible for managing and coordinating operations within an apparel manufacturing factory. This role requires strong leadership to effectively manage and support the Factory Manager team in achieving production targets, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring efficient operations. The Unit Head will work closely with various departments to drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of excellence within the organization at each factory.
Main Responsibilities
Team Management and Leadership
Leading, directing, and managing the Factory Manager team to achieve the company's goals.Conducting regular meetings with the team to identify issues, evaluate performance, and plan corrective actions.Promoting an inclusive and collaborative work culture, providing constructive feedback, and motivating the team to achieve optimal results in accordance with established targets.Encouraging structured empowerment programs from the operational level up to the senior middle management level, aimed at achieving an independent performance level that can meet the needs and challenges of the company's business operations.
Operational Control and Oversight
Monitoring and following the production operations in each factory, identifying barriers, and taking proactive steps to ensure that production activities are conducted well and smoothly with the use of resources that are efficient and productive according to the best planning that has been established.Conducting analysis and review on the application of the latest technology and manufacturing systems to enhance productivity and efficiency.Ensuring priority for and overseeing the machine maintenance process and all production instruments to minimize wasted time in production and control maintenance costs.Establishing comprehensive quality control policies and systems to ensure the consistency and excellence of products.Conducting regular reviews and quality inspections to identify quality issues and encourage continuous improvement efforts.Giving directions to all departments to ensure that the manufactured products meet the quality standards and buyer specifications throughout the production process.Managing and ensuring the implementation of corporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) policies and achievement of corporate ESG goals.Overseeing and ensuring compliance with regulations, industry standards, and buyer standards in the apparel manufacturing sector for the division.
Production Process Management
Ensuring that order planning, production planning, and raw material planning and the execution of production processes in all factories are done well to ensure smooth production and cost efficiency.Building strategic relationships with all buyers to maintain a mutually beneficial cooperation.
Analysis and Definition of Performance Standards
Conducting reviews and establishing relevant KPIs for each factory and regularly measuring performance against set targets.Analyzing production data to identify trends, variability, and opportunities or needs for improvement.Providing comprehensive feedback on the performance of each factory and presenting findings to top management for evaluation and decision-making on improvements.Emphasizing that each factory should focus on using a systematic approach as the foundation of the company's operations for sustainability, resilience, and long-term business competitiveness.
Strategic Planning
Providing guidance in the development of long-term and short-term production plans that are based on systems, productivity, quality, and team collaboration.Analyzing order trends, market conditions, and industry expectations to help the company adapt and grow.
Qualifications and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in a related field such as Industrial Engineering, Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing Engineering, or Business Administration.A minimum of 18 years of experience as senior management in the garment industry, with a strong portfolio in managing factories.Strong leadership and team management skills, with communication abilities, the capability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve outstanding results.In-depth and detailed knowledge of garment manufacturing processes, quality standards, process standards, and production operational management principles.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-based approach to decision-making.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate cross-functionally at all levels of the organization.Adequate abilities in both technical and non-technical analysis in factory operations.Possesses strong leadership and ethical principles in leading diverse teams.
