Role Description
We are seeking an experienced FPGA Engineer to support the design, development, and prototyping of advanced embedded and industrial control systems. The ideal consultant will have strong hands-on expertise with FPGA design tools, real-time embedded software development, and the ability to transition early-stage concepts into deployable, testable prototypes.
This role involves close collaboration with engineering teams, research groups, academic partners, and industry collaborators to advance embedded systems technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and develop FPGA-based solutions using Verilog and / or VHDL.
- Simulate, verify, and optimize FPGA logic using tools such as Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, and ModelSim .
- Develop, test, and integrate real-time embedded applications on microcontrollers, FPGAs, ARM, or x86 platforms.
- Contribute to system integration, bringing early-stage control and communication systems to prototype maturity.
- Author technical documentation, contribute to publications, and collaborate on patent filings.
- Work with external partners (government, academic, industry) on embedded systems research and prototyping.
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science , or related field.Strong hands-on experience designing with FPGA toolchains (Verilog / VHDL).Experience with Xilinx or Intel / Altera devices and associated toolchains.Proficiency developing embedded applications in C, C++ , or Python .Experience with embedded platforms : ARM , x86 , microcontrollers, or custom SoC.Strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills.Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with DSP algorithms, hardware acceleration, or real-time signal processing.Experience working in research environments or with government / defense partners.Contributions to open-source FPGA frameworks or hardware projects.Understanding of communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, etc.).
