Job Description : Lead Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Overview
Skilled and experienced LeadMechanical Maintenance Engineer to managemechanical integrity, reliability, and performance of our biogas productionfacility to achieve production 20 TPDCBG. This role requires strong technical expertise inpreventive / predictive maintenance of rotating equipment, with leadership and projectmanagement abilities, experience in anaerobicdigestion systems will be added advantage.
Location
Maharashtra,Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Gujarat etc.
Reports To
PlantStation Manager withdotted line reporting to Maintenance Manager
KeyResponsibilities
Mechanical Reliability & Maintenance Strategy
- Develop, implement, andcontinuously improve mechanical maintenance plansfor all plant equipment like feedstockshredding systems, pumps, compressors, gas handling andpurification systems, hot water systems, digesters, mixers, piping, valves etc.
- Create and preventive,predictive, and condition-based maintenance plans to improveasset reliability / uptimeand reduce unplanned downtime.
- Prepare criticallist of spare parts
- Prepare root-causeanalysis (RCA) for equipment failures, finalize and implement corrective actions, and ideate for preventive actions.
- Define and monitormaintenance KPIs like MTBF, MTTR, OEE.
Equipment & Process Expertise
Ability Towork On Technical Part Of Biogas Plant Including
Digesters and agitatorsGas handling andfiltration equipmentShredding equipment, extruders etc.Hot water systemsCentrifugal & Positivedisplacement Pumps, valves,piping, and instrumentationAbilityto read drawings like P&IDs,GA, SLD, Process flow diagrams and O&Mmanuals, maintenance procedures etc.
Project Management & Engineering Support
Ability to read, attend and expressin mechanical design reviews for modifications,debottlenecking, and capacity expansion projects.Ability to managemaintenance improvements, equipment upgrades, retrofits, and efficiencyimprovement projects.Coordinate withElectrical, Instrumentation, and Civil teams for integrated plant changes.Safety, Compliance, and Quality
Enforce a strong safetyculture; ensure all mechanical activities comply with companyand industry HSE policies and permit-to-workprocedures.Ability to read and understand risk assessments (HAZOP) for mechanical changes andmaintenance work.Ability to prepare Job safety analysis for high risksafety jobs.SoftSkills
Lead, mentor, anddevelop a team of mechanical technicians, supervisors, and rotating equipmentspecialists.Conduct site-based training programs on best practices, condition monitoring analyticsCommunicate status,risks, and opportunities to Plant Leadership and stakeholders.Candidateshould be B.E / B Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 8–12years of mechanical maintenance experience in biogas,waste-to-energy, wastewater treatment, or petrochemical industries, at least 3-4 years in aleadership / lead engineer role with direct supervision of maintenance personnelwill be preferred. Some experience with anaerobicdigestion systems and biogas plants will be added advantage.
