Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• responsible for overseeing the operations yard and assigning duties to WORKERS (Pointsman & Loco operators)
• Making arrangements for reception and despatch of locomotives after ensuring that points are correctly set and locked and line is clear.
• TO BE cOMPETENT IN ENSURING THE TRACK FITNEES FOR TRAFFIC MOVEMENT.
• Safe and efficient movement of locomotives within the depot
• Perform shunting operations safely and efficiently
• Placement / removal of locomotive on Under floor wheel lathe machine for wheel re-profiling,
• Maneuver locomotive through wash plant for loco washing,
• Carrying out handing and taking over of locomotives with mainline drivers
• Checking of locomotive properly before handing & taking over
• Maintain proper records and report of any abnormality in the loco
• Respect EHS rules and any work related processes
• Safe and efficient movement of locomotives
• Efficient washing through the wash plant
• Avoid detention of locomotives on account of operational movement

Qualifications & Skills :

EDUCATION

Diploma / Degree in any field from recognized University. (Regular Course)
