Role Description
The Sr. Automation Test Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust automated testing frameworks to ensure the highest level of product quality. You will collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams to enhance testing efficiency, drive automation coverage, and maintain overall software reliability.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end automation frameworks and test scripts using Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG, and JavaScript.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, product owners, DevOps) to understand business requirements and define testing scope.
- Implement automation strategies for regression, integration, functional, and API testing.
- Conduct manual and exploratory testing when necessary to validate critical application workflows and edge cases.
- Write and maintain automated regression suites for new and existing features.
- Ensure seamless integration of automated tests with CI / CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions).
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior QA team members on automation tools, coding standards, and testing best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and design discussions to ensure quality is embedded throughout the SDLC.
- Continuously improve test processes, identify automation opportunities, and recommend new tools or frameworks.
- Maintain clear and concise test documentation, reports, and defect tracking.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
5–8 years of hands-on experience in test automation and software quality engineering.Expertise in JavaScript and automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber, and TestNG.Solid understanding of BDD frameworks and API testing (RESTful services).Experience working with source control systems (GitHub, SVN).Strong understanding of test design principles, QA methodologies, and defect lifecycle.Experience with continuous integration and delivery (CI / CD) pipelines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
