The HR Manager will be a strategic partner responsible for overseeing all human resources and administrative functions ensuring operational efficiency and compliance within the organization. This role requires strong demonstrable experience within the Feeder NVOCC or broader Shipping / Logistics industry with a deep understanding of industry-specific labor practices international regulations and administrative challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Management
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding : Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for shore-based and potentially vessel-related roles ensuring a pipeline of qualified candidates experienced in shipping operations sales and logistics.
Performance & Development : Implement and manage performance appraisal systems training and development programs and succession planning tailored for the maritime and logistics environment.
Compensation & Benefits : Manage payroll benefits administration and compensation structures ensuring competitiveness and compliance with local labor laws.
Employee Relations : Serve as the primary point of contact for employee grievances disciplinary actions and conflict resolution maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
HR Compliance : Ensure strict adherence to all local labor laws industry regulations (including maritime labor conventions if applicable to crew) and company policies.
Administration & Operations
Office Management : Oversee all general administrative functions including office infrastructure maintenance supply management vendor contracts (utilities security cleaning) and ensuring a safe working environment.
Regulatory & Licensing : Manage company licenses permits and regulatory documentation necessary for NVOCC and Feeder operations ensuring timely renewals and compliance.
Records Management : Establish and maintain efficient physical and digital record-keeping systems for both HR documents and general administrative / operational files.
Travel & Logistics : Manage company travel accommodation and logistics arrangements for staff including local and international travel related to port visits client meetings or vessel-related requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field. An HR professional certification (e.g. PHR SHRM-CP) is a plus.
Experience : Minimum of Insert Number e.g. 7-10 years of progressive HR and Administrative experience with at least Insert Number e.g. 5 years specifically within the Feeder NVOCC or Shipping / Maritime industry.
Industry Knowledge : Deep familiarity with the operational flow and specific roles within the shipping industry (e.g. documentation customs vessel operations sales).
Communication : Exceptional written and verbal communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Technical Proficiency : Proficient in HRIS software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint).
