Job Description :

Role : YugabyteDB + Neo4j Specialist

Experience : ~10 years

Location : Mumbai

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Database Specialist with strong expertise in YugabyteDB and Neo4j to design, develop, and optimize data solutions that span both distributed SQL and graph paradigms. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge in database architecture, performance tuning, and system scalability.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design, develop, and optimize database solutions using YugabyteDB (distributed SQL) and Neo4j (graph database).
  • Model and manage data across relational and graph structures to support complex use cases.
  • Implement clustering, replication, high availability (HA) , and disaster recovery setups.
  • Perform query optimization, indexing , and performance tuning to ensure system efficiency.
  • Integrate database systems with microservices, APIs, and data pipelines .
  • Troubleshoot database issues and plan for scaling and capacity management .
  • Ensure security, reliability, and consistency across distributed environments.
  • Collaborate with application and DevOps teams to streamline deployments and operations.

Required Skills & Experience :

  • 10+ years of experience in database engineering, backend development, or architecture roles.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with YugabyteDB (or equivalent distributed SQL systems like CockroachDB, Google Spanner).
  • In-depth knowledge of Neo4j or other graph databases (e.g., ArangoDB, JanusGraph).
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts : replication, sharding, and consistency models.
  • Proven experience in query optimization , indexing , and database performance tuning .
  • Familiarity with database integration and programming using Java, Python, or similar languages .
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Kubernetes for database deployment and management is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

    • Nice to Have :

  • Experience with data pipelines , ETL , or event-driven architectures .
  • Exposure to monitoring and observability tools for distributed databases.
  • Contributions to open-source database projects or community forums.
