Design & validation of complex fixtures used for Welding, Assembly, Checking, lifting, handling, transportation, testing of large assemblies / products for different OEM, covering industries like Auto Industry.
Proficient in DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) with approach to structured problem-solving and decision-making
Should be able to translate user requirements into functional a technical solution
Train other members of the team on theory and design of existing / new equipment.
Ability to use CAD software (Solid works, Catia V5) to facilitate design of equipment.
Expertise in Mfg domain specialized in welding shops.
Project management and other communication
Hands-on experience on tools and fixture design covering variety of equipment type such as Welding fixture (BIW), Assembly fixtures, checking fixtures, Test Fixtures, lifting fixtures. Experience in Designing of Material handling / storage devices, transportation devices.
Hands on experience on applying different industry standards used developing equipment defined above.
Proficient Six Sigma knowledge; Advanced understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
Experience in working with machine OEMs or SPM manufacturers
Uses solid concepts of Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) and implements them into new product development.
Solid understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic and / or mechanical machine drawings, including industry specifications.
Strong understanding of applicable manufacturing processes. Solid knowledge of vendors, and procurement methods.
Ability to apply advanced knowledge of capabilities studies, Gage R&R, and machine capability.
Excellent understanding of product drawings, including GD&T and specification flow down.
Proficient comprehension of cell and plant layout drawings.
