Key job responsibilities

As an SDM you will be responsible for leading a team delivering large projects across Alexa. Your team will build the foundational architecture for Alexas LLM based experiences and will coordinate the implementation efforts between internal teams and external partners. You will be expected to make appropriate trade offs to optimize time-to-market clearly communicate goals roles responsibilities and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams. Youll also be responsible for ensuring your team operates efficiently. Youll coordinate cross-team programs to deliver state-of-the-art natural language based capabilities. Youll help teams identify key risks provide guidance on how to communicate them and ensure leadership has the right visibility. This role will have to work closely with senior leaders across Alexa and lead strategic initiatives.

Alexa AI Developer Tech is an organization within Alexa on a mission to empower experience builders to create delightful and engaging experiences by making Alexa conversational smarter personalized and gets things done.

• 3 years of engineering team management experience
• 7 years of engineering experience
• 8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software / hardware / networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams
• Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
• Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring / coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
• Experience in building developer platform SDKs and developing Agentic applications.
