The Role (Job Summary) :

AspenTechs Digital Grid Management (DGM) solutions form the backbone of decision making & real-time operations of leading utilities worldwide.

As a Principal Engineer Integration Development, you will lead a high-impact team that builds scalable, automation-driven solutions for converting complex competitor systems information to AspenTechs platform and delivering customized extensions to meet unique customer needs.

You will work closely with global project and product teams to accelerate delivery of real-time operational systems across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

This is a technical leadership role that blends deep engineering skills with strong system-level thinking, cross-team collaboration, and innovation to deliver high-quality solutions in SCADA, EMS, GMS, ADMS, and related domains.

Your Impact (Job Description) :

Lead a team of developers responsible for converting competitor systems (such as GE Eterra, Hitachi Network Manager, ACS Prism, Siemens Spectrum, Aveva and others) into OSI Monarch format, including databases, displays, logics and calculations, reports, and historical data.
Own design and delivery of custom-developed applications and automation scripts on top of OSIs real-time platform to meet customer-specific requirements beyond standard product capabilities.
Interface regularly with global engineering, product, and customer teams to gather technical requirements, align on best practices, and drive effective implementation.
Oversee architectural decisions and code reviews for team deliverables to ensure performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Define automation strategies for repeatable conversion and configuration tasks to increase delivery efficiency across global projects.
Analyze legacy system structures and advise on migration strategies to ensure fidelity, accuracy, and security during conversion.
Provide mentoring, technical direction, and workload planning across the team.

What Youll Need (Additional Job Description) :

Years of Experience :

8+ years of relevant experience in application development, software engineering, or system conversion in industrial, SCADA, or real-time environments.

Technical leadership readiness preferably with 2 years in a technical leadership or team management role.

Education :

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication engineering, Instrumentation engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Technical Skills :

Proficiency in Object Oriented programming, preferably in Python and C# with experience in web technologies such as ASP.NET, Javascript, etc.

Experience in both backend and frontend design is good to have.

Exposure to OSI monarch platform or similar real-time control systems is preferred.

Strong understanding of scripting, automation tools, and system conversion strategies.

Strong experience in relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and basic SQL programming.

Experience with version control, familiarity with tools such as JIRA / Github and others, debugging, and performance optimization.

Experience working on 3rd party interfaces with JSON, XML, APIs is a plus.
