Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic IoT Engineer with expertise in smart agriculture and biotechnology applications to design, develop, and implement IoT-based monitoring and automation systems for our BSFL processing operations. The successful candidate will create intelligent solutions that optimize bioconversion processes, monitor environmental conditions, and enhance operational efficiency across our sustainable protein production facilities.
Key Responsibilities
IoT System Design & Development
BSFL Process Monitoring :
Design and develop IoT sensor networks to monitor BSFL lifecycle stages, growth conditions, and bioconversion efficiency
Create real-time monitoring systems for temperature, humidity, pH levels, moisture content, and organic waste decomposition rates
Implement automated data collection for protein content analysis and feed conversion ratios
Develop IoT solutions for tracking larval development, harvesting schedules, and production optimization
Smart Agriculture Integration :
Design precision agriculture monitoring systems for organic waste feedstock management
Implement sensor networks for soil health monitoring, nutrient levels, and crop condition assessment
Create IoT-enabled systems for automated irrigation, fertilization, and environmental control in agricultural applications
Develop drone-based monitoring solutions for large-scale agricultural operations using our organic fertilizer products
Environmental Control Systems :
Design and implement climate control IoT systems for BSFL farming facilities
Create automated ventilation, temperature regulation, and humidity control systems
Develop air quality monitoring solutions to ensure optimal production environments
Implement waste heat recovery systems for energy-efficient operations
Technology Development & Integration
Sensor Integration & Calibration :
Select, integrate, and calibrate various sensors including soil moisture sensors, pH meters, temperature probes, CO2 monitors, and weight measurement systems
Design custom sensor solutions for specific BSFL bioconversion requirements
Implement multi-sensor data fusion for comprehensive process monitoring
Develop predictive maintenance systems for equipment monitoring
Cloud Platform & Analytics :
Develop cloud-based IoT platforms using AWS / Azure IoT Core services
Create data analytics dashboards for real-time monitoring and decision support
Implement machine learning algorithms for predictive analytics and process optimization
Design mobile applications for remote monitoring and control of operations
Automation & Control Systems :
Develop automated feeding systems for optimal organic waste processing
Create smart harvesting mechanisms for BSFL collection and processing
Implement robotic process automation for repetitive tasks in production facilities
Design quality control systems with automated sorting and grading capabilities
Research & Innovation
Technology Research :
Research and incorporate emerging IoT and AI technologies for sustainable agriculture and biotechnology applications
Evaluate new sensor technologies, communication protocols, and edge computing solutions
Stay updated with latest developments in precision farming and bioconversion monitoring
Collaborate with academic institutions and research organizations
Product Development :
Design IoT-enabled products for customers in aquaculture, poultry, and pet food industries
Develop smart feeding systems that optimize BSFL-based protein delivery
Create monitoring solutions for customers to track feed efficiency and animal health
Implement blockchain-based traceability systems for supply chain transparency
System Maintenance & Optimization
Performance Monitoring :
Monitor IoT system performance, connectivity, and data integrity
Implement cybersecurity measures for IoT devices and data protection
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in field-deployed systems
Optimize system performance for maximum efficiency and reliability
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, IoT Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or related field
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in IoT system development and deployment
Experience in precision agriculture, biotechnology, or food processing industries preferred
Hands-on experience with smart farming technologies and agricultural automation
Technical Skills
IoT & Embedded Systems :
Proficiency in microcontroller programming (Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi)
Experience with IoT communication protocols (MQTT, LoRaWAN, WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee)
Knowledge of sensor integration and analog / digital signal processing
Experience with real-time data acquisition and processing systems
Software Development :
Programming skills in Python, C / C++, JavaScript, and embedded C
Experience with IoT platforms (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT)
Knowledge of database management (SQL, MongoDB, InfluxDB for time-series data)
Web development skills for dashboard creation (React, Node.js, HTML / CSS)
Agriculture & Biotechnology Domain :
Understanding of precision agriculture principles and smart farming techniques
Knowledge of environmental monitoring requirements for biological processes
Familiarity with food safety standards and biotechnology regulations
Understanding of sustainable agriculture practices and circular economy principles
Data Analytics & AI :
Experience with data analytics tools (Python pandas, R, MATLAB)
Knowledge of machine learning algorithms for predictive analytics
