Role Description

We are looking for a Cost Accountant who will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our cost structures. The role involves analysing production costs, preparing cost statements, maintaining cost records, and supporting management with data-driven insights for pricing and profitability decisions. The ideal candidate has strong analytical acumen, manufacturing cost experience, and a keen eye for process efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain cost sheets, variance analysis, and product-wise profitability reports.
  • Analyse manufacturing costs, material consumption, labour, and overheads to identify areas of cost optimization.
  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation, standard costing, and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes with cost data and insights.
  • Conduct cost audits, reconcile cost accounts with financial accounts, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, and finance teams to establish and monitor cost control mechanisms.
  • Support management in pricing decisions, make-or-buy analysis, and CAPEX evaluation.

  • Ensuring cost accuracy and transparency across multiple product lines and manufacturing locations.
  • Managing volatile raw material prices while maintaining cost competitiveness and profitability.
  • Balancing cost control initiatives with the need to support production efficiency and innovation.
  • Aligning data from procurement, production, and finance systems to maintain consistency and reliability in reporting.
  • Driving process discipline in cost capture, allocation, and analysis across departments.
  • Navigating tight reporting timelines and responding quickly to management’s cost and profitability queries.
  • Job Requirements

    Qualifications

  • CMA (Cost & Management Accountant) qualified preferred.
  • 2–6 years of experience in costing and management accounting in a manufacturing or energy / technology setup.
  • Strong working knowledge of cost accounting standards, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar), and MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and communicate insights clearly.
  • Collaborative mindset with cross-functional working ability.
  • Integrity, accuracy, and accountability in financial reporting.
