Manager Packaging Procurement

Role Overview :
The Packaging Procurement Manager India holds full responsibility for implementing packaging supply market strategies across India. The role ensures that business requirements related to service, quality, sustainability, cost, and regulatory compliance are met while optimizing overall value from a techno-commercial perspective.
What You Will Deliver :
- Lead the packaging portfolio and sourcing strategy for India, aligned with the organizations global procurement framework.
- Monitor market trends, raw material movements, and commodity dynamics to identify cost-saving opportunities, manage pricing, and mitigate supply risks.
- Analyze market intelligence and supplier proposals to optimize packaging spend and ensure an efficient, value-driven portfolio.
- Own and govern the packaging category spend, ensuring sustainable sourcing with the right balance of service, quality, and cost.
- Drive cost-reduction initiatives without compromising on quality, service levels, supply security, or sustainability commitments.
- Forecast and budget annual spend, monitor variances, and highlight risks impacting cost of goods.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing structures to ensure supply continuity, value maximization, and risk management.
- Develop and manage supplier contracts in compliance with local tax regulations, labeling norms, and plastic waste management requirements.
- Manage supplier relationships, address performance concerns, and lead evaluations to enable continuous improvement.
- Establish and conduct supplier audits to ensure adherence to quality, social, and environmental standards.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with organizational policies, governance frameworks, and sustainability standards.
- Collaborate with global and local teams (engineering, procurement, marketing, quality, production) to enable new product development and packaging innovation.
- Lead sustainability-driven packaging initiatives, including the adoption of eco-friendly materials and recycled content, within techno-commercial feasibility.
- Support cross-functional teams in resolving packaging issues and managing supplier quality programs in line with IATF / ISO standards.
- Champion sustainability initiatives internally and externally; own compliance and reporting responsibilities under relevant environmental regulations (e.g., EPR, PWM).
- Assess supplier risksincluding cybersecurityand support incident response where required.
