Lecturer - Senior Lecturer (ILP Coordinator)- Port Macquarie

UNSW Rural brings world-class medical education to rural and regional Australia, delivering the full 6-year medical course at our rural clinical campuses across several locations. Face-to-face teaching is critical to rural program delivery with our students building strong relationships with and benefitting from more personal interaction with clinicians and other academics, whilst integrating and being accepted as part of the local medical community. UNSW's program has strongly supported the aims of the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training (RHMT) program for over 25-years, delivering excellence in rural medical education and student experience.
Details of the role
UNSW's Education Focussed (EF) roles enable academics to specialise in education and devote their time to delivering high-quality teaching and pursuing initiatives to enhance the educational experience of our students. Those who are appointed to this prestigious specialism will be expected to successfully drive educational excellence within the university's teaching and learning communities.
In the role of Lecturer / Senior Lecturer, ILP Coordinator, Rural you will have a passion for rural medical education be committed to high quality teaching, have a passion for rural medical education and a demonstrated interest in rural health projects and research. The role has a strong focus on developing and maintaining the Independent Learning Project (ILP) program at the campus, ensuring consistent alignment with the goals in introducing undergraduate medical students to research through supervised projects that provide hands-on experience and a basic knowledge of research concepts and process, including the development of self-directed learning skills and critical thinking.
The position reports to the Director of Medical Education at the identified campus with a dotted reporting line to the Clinical Director Rural, ILP and Research Collaboration, and has no direct reports.
