Role Overview -
We are looking for an experienced and creative Deputy General Manager – Interior Design to lead our design strategy and execution across existing and upcoming properties. This role demands a strong sense of aesthetics, attention to detail, and proven project management capabilities. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of creative design thinking and operational practicality aligned with the goSTOPS brand ethos. The role includes extensive travel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Lead end-to-end interior design for all goSTOPS hostels including new projects, renovations, and brand upgrades.
- Develop and maintain design guidelines, ensuring consistency in look and feel across all properties while adapting to local character and constraints.
- Oversee space planning, layout finalization, color schemes, lighting, and furniture selection in line with brand identity. Manage design consultants, vendors, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.
- Collaborate closely with Project, Procurement, Branding, and Operations teams for seamless coordination.
- Conduct site visits to monitor work progress and ensure design adherence. Create mood boards, presentations, 2D layouts, and supervise 3D visualization development.
- Approve material samples, mock-ups, and prototypes to ensure desired quality.
- Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards for all design projects.
- Lead innovation in upcycling and sustainable design practices aligned with ESG goals.
Qualification -
Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field from a reputed institute.Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, and other design tools.Experience / Skills -
10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in hospitality or co-living space design.Strong portfolio of commercial interior projects; hostel / hotel / resort design experience preferred.Ability to handle multiple projects across geographies with strong team leadership.Excellent understanding of materials, sourcing, and cost optimization.Strong project management, budgeting, and vendor management skills.Creative flair with attention to detail and a practical approach to execution.
