Job description

Associate Project Manager – Publishing

Location : Bangalore – On-site - Banaswadi

Department : Creative Services

Job Type : Full-time

Shift : 7 : 30PM to 4 : 30AM

About the Role :

At Flatworld Solutions, stories don't just get published—they're brought to life. We are looking for an Associate Project Manager – Publishing who thrives at the crossroads of creativity and precision. If you're someone who enjoys keeping projects on track, aligning people with deadlines, and turning creative ideas into polished deliverables, this role is your stage.

From books and journals to digital assets and multimedia content, you will partner with editors, designers, production experts, and external collaborators to ensure publishing projects are delivered seamlessly— on time, within scope, and beyond expectations.

What You'll Do :

As the glue that holds projects together, you will :

  • Orchestrate the publishing lifecycle – from editorial and design through production and delivery.
  • Keep timelines sharp by tracking milestones, updating schedules, and maintaining precise documentation.
  • Bridge creativity and execution by coordinating between internal teams (supervisors, designers, proofreaders) and external partners (clients, vendors, authors).
  • Stay one step ahead by monitoring workflows, identifying risks, and flagging potential roadblocks early.
  • Support budgets through invoice tracking, vendor management, and financial alignment.
  • Uphold publishing integrity by ensuring rights, permissions, and quality standards are never compromised.
  • Facilitate reviews —managing proof approvals, version control, and QC checks with finesse.
  • Be the voice of clarity during project meetings by capturing minutes, actions, and ensuring smooth follow-ups.
  • Elevate processes by documenting best practices and contributing to continuous improvement.

What You Bring :

  • A Bachelor's degree in any discipline with relevant publishing or project management experience.
  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in publishing, editorial, production, or project management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills —clear, concise, and engaging.
  • Working knowledge of publishing workflows and tools (InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Strong organization and multitasking ability —juggling multiple projects without missing a beat.
  • Familiarity with project management platforms (Trello, Asana, Smartsheet, Jira) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • An eye for detail and a heart that beats for books and publishing.
  • A collaborative spirit with the ability to work independently when needed.
  • Preferred Extras

  • Awareness of production workflows like copyediting, proofreading, design, and printing.
  • Experience engaging with authors, creatives, or publishing professionals.
  • Why Flatworld Solutions

At Flatworld, you'll be part of a team where ideas meet execution —a space that values precision as much as creativity. Here, every project you manage contributes to shaping content that informs, inspires, and endures.
