Position : Manager – Operations & Accounts
A. Overview of the Position
The Manager – Operations & Accounts
will oversee the end-to-end operational and accounting functions of
Sovereign Global Markets Pvt. Ltd. (SGMPL) . The role involves managing back-office operations for the
Fixed Income vertical , ensuring accurate trade settlements, financial reporting, and compliance adherence. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in finance operations and accounting within the capital markets ecosystem, ensuring precision, timeliness, and collaboration across departments.
B. Qualifications
Mandatory :
CA (Inter) — candidates must have completed CA (Inter) and should not be pursuing CA further
Preferred :
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and / or Diploma in Investment Management, Financial Markets, or related disciplines
C. Experience and Skills
Minimum
3 years
of relevant experience in
operations and / or accounts
within the
Fixed Income Broking
or
Capital Markets
industry
Strong understanding of financial products — Fixed Income, Equity, and Mutual Funds
Working knowledge of
compliance
requirements across financial market businesses
Familiarity with
trading platforms
and trade execution processes
Understanding of
commercial terms
of financial products
Proficient in
Tally ERP
and
MS Office
D. Working Relationship
Reports directly to the Managing Director
and works closely with the management and functional teams to support financial transactions, settlements, accounting, and compliance operations across all business units.
E. Key Responsibilities
1. Fixed Income Back-Office Operations
Provide complete operational support to the Fixed Income desk
Confirm and settle trades; coordinate with banks and clients
Record and report transactions on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
Maintain real-time investment inventory and daily deal reports
Compute and maintain
XIRR
and
YTM
for fixed income instruments
Prepare and submit price quotes to clients
Maintain documentation for price bands, Demat / Remat processes
Manage client onboarding and empanelment, especially for
Northern India
region
Execute trades on platforms as per Delegation of Authority
Ensure timely and accurate trade reporting (SLR, Non-SLR, PF clients, etc.)
2. Finance and Accounts
Pass and verify accounting entries in Tally ERP
Prepare and reconcile detailed trading statements and
P&L
(unit-wise and consolidated)
Perform trade reconciliations for accurate reporting
Process payments (invoices, expenses, payroll, statutory dues)
Handle petty cash operations and bank fund transfers
Manage bank limits and maintain updated banking documentation
3. Compliance and Reporting
Ensure adherence to regulatory and internal compliance norms
Prepare audit schedules, respond to queries, and support external audits
Generate periodic management reports for all business units
Liaise with exchanges, depositories, and counterparties for operational matters
Salary Range :
₹5 – ₹8 LPA (based on experience and qualification)
