Job Summary
The IT Asset Manager is responsible for overseeing the lifecycle management of all IT assets—hardware, software, and digital infrastructure—across the organization. This role ensures accurate inventory, compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements, and optimal utilization of resources to support business operations and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Asset Lifecycle Management
Ability to develop and manage a Global CMDB, configuration management database
Maintain and update asset records from acquisition to disposal.
Oversee issuance, receipt, recovery, and restocking of IT assets.
Ensure physical protection and proper handling of assets.
Implement lifecycle processes including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement.
2. Inventory and Compliance
Conduct regular audits of hardware and software assets.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, vendor contracts, and licensing agreements.
Maintain databases for licenses, warranties, and service agreements.
3. Process and Policy Development
Develop and enforce asset management policies and procedures.
Collaborate with IT, procurement, finance, and compliance teams to align asset strategies with organizational goals.
Drive automation and integration of asset tracking systems (e.g., SD+ or other ITSM tools).
4. Reporting and Analytics
Generate reports on asset utilization, lifecycle status, and compliance metrics.
Analyze asset data to identify cost-saving opportunities and performance improvements.
Present findings to senior management and contribute to strategic planning.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with People Experience, Admin, and IT Engineering teams for asset distribution and replacement workflows.
Coordinate approvals with VP-level stakeholders for asset dispatch and exceptions.
Support global service desk operations with asset-related insights and planning. Monthly IT Operations Review
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Asset Management or IT Operations.
Proficiency in ITSM tools (e.g., ManageEngine, Freshservice).
Strong understanding of software licensing, hardware tracking, and compliance frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and mentor junior staff.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications in IT Asset Management, ITIL, or related disciplines.
Experience in global IT operations and multi-site asset coordination.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and endpoint management tools (e.g., Jamf, Intune).
KPIs and Performance Metrics
SLA adherence for asset dispatch and recovery.
Accuracy of asset inventory and audit results.
Compliance rate with licensing and regulatory standards.
Cost optimization through asset reuse and lifecycle planning.
Stakeholder satisfaction and process efficiency improvements.
