Role Overview
As a Senior QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring product quality across our integration workflows and core platform. You will drive manual testing excellence, enhance QA processes, contribute to agile ceremonies, and build scalable test coverage for web and API components using JS-based tools like Cypress, Playwright, or Jest.
This role requires strong analytical skills, deep ownership of quality cycles, and a balance between manual validation and automation mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end manual testing for product features, integrations, APIs, and data workflows.
- Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices aligned with product requirements.
- Manage and improve QA documentation, ensuring version control and reusability.
- Collaborate with product, backend, and frontend teams to define QA strategy in Agile sprints.
- Conduct functional, regression, integration, smoke, and exploratory testing.
- Own and drive defect management – identification, reporting, prioritization, and closure.
- Implement and maintain JavaScript-based automation scripts using tools like Cypress, Playwright, or Jest to complement manual testing.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and QA sign-offs.
- Validate API integrations using Postman and Swagger while testing end-to-end platform workflows.
- Track and report quality metrics, ensuring consistent release health and continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Experience
Must-Have :
5–8 years of experience in QA, with strong expertise in manual testing of web and API-based applications.Deep understanding of Agile testing lifecycle, SDLC / STLC, and QA documentation standards.Hands-on experience with Postman, Swagger, JIRA, and TestRail (or equivalent).Exposure to JavaScript automation tools such as Cypress, Playwright, or Jest.Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines and Git-based version control.Excellent analytical skills and a structured approach to test design and coverage.Good-to-Have :
Basic knowledge of Node.js or TypeScript for test scripting.Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON / XML validation, and webhook testing.Familiarity with cloud-based environments (AWS / GCP) and integration testing across microservices.Understanding of performance, security, or mocking frameworks (e.g., Wire Mock).Soft Skills
