Job Overview
Looking for a candidate with highly experienced piping professional who uses the Hexagon Spoolgen software to manage the detailed fabrication and construction phase of piping projects. This role requires a deep understanding of piping design, fabrication standards, and project management to ensure piping systems are built accurately and efficiently.
Roles and Responsibility
- Oversee and manage the complete spool generation process using Intergraph Spoolgen.
- Plan and supervise the splitting of piping isometric drawings into spools for fabrication and erection.
- Ensure that all spool drawings are accurate, complete, and in compliance with project specifications, welding codes (e.g., ASME Section IX), and industry standards.
- Support senior engineers in generating accurate spool drawings, weld maps, and spool bills of materials (BOM).
- As-built documentation : Incorporate site requirements and field changes into the drawings to produce accurate 'as-built' documentation for the final project record.
- Ensure data integrity by interfacing with leading plant design systems and resolving any data inconsistencies.
- Review and approve spool drawings before release to fabrication or construction teams.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers and draftsmen in the use of Spoolgen and best practices for spool creation.
- Provide technical support and on-the-job training to enhance team competency.
- Coordinate with piping design teams to clarify issues related to isometric drawings or piping layouts.
- Ensure all spool drawings comply with project standards, welding codes (e.g., ASME Section IX), and fabrication practices.
- Preparation of as-built drawings as per fabrication or site comments and implementing the same in the latest revision of isometrics.
- Help in preparing spool-related documentation such as weld logs, MTOs (Material Take-Offs), and fabrication schedules.
- Interface with fabrication, QA / QC, and construction teams to ensure spools meet site and workshop requirements. Professionals with Diploma / Engineer degree in Mechanical with more than 5+ Years of experience.
Position can be based at both Chennai or Bangalore.
