Neuro Surgeon

Job Description

A neurosurgeon with an MCh (Master of Chirurgiae) or DNB (Diplomate of National Board) in Neurosurgery is a specialized surgeon who diagnoses, treats, and operates on conditions related to the :

Brain

Spine and spinal cord

Peripheral nerves

Cerebrovascular system

Neuro-oncology (brain and spinal tumors)

Key Responsibilities

Perform complex neurological surgeries (brain tumor removal, aneurysm repair, spine surgeries, trauma, etc.).

Diagnose neurological disorders using imaging tools (MRI, CT, angiography).

Manage emergency neurotrauma cases.

Provide preoperative and postoperative patient care.

Collaborate with neurologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, and critical care specialists.

Conduct minimally invasive and micro-neurosurgical procedures.

Maintain patient records and create treatment plans.

Stay updated with advances in neurosurgical techniques (endoscopic, stereotactic, robotic surgeries).

Requirements

MBBS (5.5 years including internship)

MS in General Surgery or DNB (General Surgery) (3 years)

MCh (Neurosurgery) or DNB (Neurosurgery) (5–6 years depending on program)

Entry Requirements

Qualify NEET-PG for MS

Qualify NEET-SS for MCh or DNB Neurosurgery

Strong academic record and clinical internship performance
