Job Purpose :
- To provide accurate, timely, and insightful management information (MIS) that supports sales performance tracking, decision-making, forecasting and strategy.
- To support all sales teams by maintaining sales data, dashboards, reports, and ensure smooth information flow between sales, finance, supply chain etc.
Key Responsibilities :
Data Collection & IntegrityGather sales data from multiple sources (sales teams, ERP / CRM systems, distributors, modern trade, e-commerce etc.).Ensure accuracy, completeness and integrity of sales data; validate and clean data as needed.Report PreparationBuild, maintain, and distribute regular sales reports — daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly — covering key metrics like revenue, units sold, growth vs target, channel wise performance, product category, region, customer segments.Create dashboards (Power BI / Tableau / Excel / Google Sheets) for real-time and periodic monitoring.Variance & Trend AnalysisAnalyze variances between actual sales and targets, historical data, forecasts.Identify patterns, trends, opportunities, risks. Report on what is working well and where performance is lagging.Forecasting & Budgeting SupportAssist in preparing sales forecasts and budgets; update forecast based on actuals and market inputs.Provide inputs for sales planning, including seasonality, product launches, promotions etc.Sales Process SupportSupport sales operations : tracking orders, shipments, returns, credit notes etc.Liaise with supply chain / operations / finance to ensure alignment on inventory, billing, and collections.KPIs / Metrics & TargetsDefine and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for sales teams : e.g. achievement vs target, average order size, rate of growth, channel efficiency.Suggest and help implement corrective actions.Ad hoc Analysis & ProjectsProvide ad hoc analyses required by management : e.g. what‐if scenarios, competitor benchmarking, product profitability etc.Support special projects – sales process improvement, tools implementation, etc.Automation & Process ImprovementAutomate repetitive reporting wherever possible : macros, scripts or BI tools.Improve data collection, reduce errors, improve turnaround time for reports.Stakeholder CommunicationPresent MIS findings to Sales Leadership, Finance, Marketing etc.Be the point of contact for queries regarding sales data.Skills & Competencies :
Strong analytical skills; attention to detail.Good command of Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP etc.).Experience with MIS / Reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Google Data Studio etc.)Familiarity with ERPGood communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to work under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines.Proactive, with ability to think ahead and suggest improvements.
