About Math2Shine & Work Context

Math2Shine is a social impacy EdTech platform that blends School Math, Vedic Math, Olympiad, and Abacus with multilingual delivery.

Help build multilingual, AI powered math learning for students and teachers worldwide. We are refreshing the UI of our Student and Teacher Portals and prefer an experienced freelancer to convert our new designs into clean, production ready code. An exceptional intern is also welcome.

You will work closely with our designer and backend software engineer to ship improvements quickly without changing existing API contracts.

What you will do

  • Implement the new UI for Student and Teacher Portals based on the provided Figma designs.
  • Work mainly with React class based components in an existing codebase.
  • Manage global state with Redux v4 and Redux Thunk.
  • Write responsive, accessible CSS that renders well across devices and browsers.
  • Refactor legacy code for clarity and maintainability without changing behavior.
  • Integrate REST APIs via Axios or fetch and handle loading and error states.
  • Collaborate via Git pull requests, code reviews, and short async standups.
  • Ensure pixel alignment with designs and maintain component reusability.

Must have skills

  • Strong understanding of JavaScript fundamentals.
  • Practical experience with ES6 features : destructuring, arrow functions, template literals, spread and rest operators.
  • Solid experience with React v16 class based components.
  • Basic familiarity with functional components and hooks is an advantage.
  • Redux v4 and Redux Thunk for state management.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, responsive CSS.

    • Nice to have

  • Material UI v4.
  • styled-components.
  • Axios for API integration.
  • Familiarity with Figma design handoff.
  • Basic testing exposure with Jest or React Testing Library.

  • Location : Remote
  • Contract : Freelancer preferred. Exceptional intern considered
  • Duration : 8 weeks.
  • Time : Full time or part time ( 30 hours per week minimum )
  • Compensation : We are cost conscious. Please quote per screen rates / time based rates.
  • Align work to a clear screen list with acceptance criteria.
  • You would reuse existing components and CSS to reduce effort.
  • Refer our Youtube channel "Math2Shine" to know more about our application screens.
  • Communicate early when scope changes so we stay within time and budget.
