JOB PURPOSE
Leveraging packaging to deliver meaningful and ownable differentiation for driving brand preference and consumer delight while meeting action standards of quality, sustainability, and cost.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead the overall packaging technical agenda for your unit to fuel meaningful brand growth by efficiently deploying packaging change projects meeting 3F (Fit, Feel, Finish), OTIF & Quality action standards.
2. Ensure a user-centric, environmentally responsible, and class-leading approach in packaging. Improve brand preference by leveraging packaging structural design, print technology, and sustainable materials.
3. Lead packaging technical development through all six stages (Design, Develop, Validate, Deploy, Learn, and Improve) and deployment for all ‘business as usual (BAU)’ packaging change projects for improving product safety, unlocking value and productivity, ensuring compliance with LMR and PWM, enabling improved share of business with strategic vendors located near the factory. For all BAU projects, your responsibility starts from concept and ends at successful deployment until the fulfillment of the first order quantity.
4. Partner with the packaging design and Innovation team for packaging development of new product introduction projects by arranging packaging samples for fitment tests and N10 validation. Take the lead to ensure successful deployment once the design is validated successfully at N10.
5. Improve the performance of packaging against KPIs of DFM, DFQ, and DFA including product safety. Unlock material and manufacturing efficiency through smart design interventions while improving product safety during storage, transportation, and handling.
6. Leverage packaging structural design and substrate to cue key product benefits and attributes, initiate the right anticipation while uplifting the ‘unboxing’ experience.
7. Continuously and constructively challenge current assumptions to inspire better alternatives to drive innovations in packaging. Maintain and encourage an ‘outside-in’ approach in design creation and review. Act as a catalyst to remove the ‘not-invented here’ syndrome while nurturing ideas and insights with great potential.
8. Build and optimize packaging specifications with required details of performance action standards, physical parameters, materials of construction, and 3D models / 2D drawings with acceptable tolerances and measurement standards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
Post-Graduation (Full Time)
Post Graduate Diploma in Packaging from IIP (Mumbai / Delhi) - Mandatory
Graduation
B. E or B. Tech in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation.
4 to 6 years of experience in packaging technical role for cable and wire packaging. At least 3 years of experience in working with leading packaging converting company.
