Position Overview
The Chartered Accountant will oversee the company's financial operations, with a primary focus on project finance, financial planning, cost management, and statutory compliance. This role is critical for ensuring financial integrity, mitigating risk, and supporting strategic decision-making.
The position requires close collaboration with Sales Engineering, Project Management, Operations, Procurement, and senior leadership to ensure effective fund allocation, cost control, and alignment with organizational objectives, while safeguarding the company's financial and legal interests.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Finance, Cost & Risk Management
Manage financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for all façade projects.
Monitor project expenditures against budgets and analyze variances.
Validate project-related costs including subcontractor bills, material purchases, and production expenses.
Support project teams in client billing, variation orders
Prepare project-wise profitability reports and present findings to management.
Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks specific to projects, such as cost overruns.
Implement a project risk register and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs).
2. Financial Accounting, Reporting & Audit
Oversee accounting operations including bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial statements.
Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Coordinate and manage internal and external audit processes.
Handle finalization of accounts and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Maintain complete and organized financial documentation.
3. Statutory Compliance, Taxation & Legal Safeguards
Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI and other statutory requirements.
Review tax filings, reconciliations, and manage compliance calendars.
Liaise with external consultants and auditors for timely submissions and query resolution.
Stay updated on changes in financial regulations affecting the construction and manufacturing sector.
Review key contracts (client, vendor, subcontractor) from a financial and risk perspective to safeguard the company's interests.
4. Treasury, Banking & Cash Flow Management
Prepare and monitor cash flow statements and fund position reports.
Manage working capital through efficient receivables and payables processes.
Coordinate fund allocation for procurement and other operational needs.
Track client payments and ensure timely settlement to vendors and subcontractors.
Manage banking relationships and negotiate terms for bank guarantees and working capital limits.
Develop and implement strategies for optimizing forex exposure on imported materials.
5. Systems, Process Improvement & Team Leadership
Ensure accuracy of financial data in ERP and accounting systems.
Develop management dashboards and analytical reports using Excel / Power BI.
Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvement.
Support digital initiatives for billing, project tracking, and financial workflows.
Lead, mentor, and develop the accounts and finance team.
6. Risk Management & Internal Controls
Design and implement a comprehensive framework for financial risk management.
Oversee the company's insurance portfolio, ensuring adequate coverage for projects, plant assets, and liabilities.
Establish and monitor strong internal controls to prevent fraud, errors, and misappropriation of assets.
Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification
4 -7 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in construction, façade, or manufacturing industries.
Strong background in project accounting, cost control, and financial management.
Comprehensive knowledge of Indian taxation laws and financial reporting standards.
Experience in multi-project environments and cross-functional coordination.
Familiarity with contract law, corporate law, and risk management frameworks.
