Position Overview :
A Hospital Billing and Insurance Executive manage patient billing, insurance claims, and revenue cycle operations. Their responsibilities include verifying patient information, submitting claims to insurance companies, following up on outstanding payments, and maintaining accurate billing records.
Key Responsibilities :
Ø Reviewing and verifying patient billing information for accuracy and completeness.
Ø Processing patient bills for services rendered, including inpatient and outpatient care.
Ø Maintaining accurate patient billing records and updating databases.
Ø Communicating with patient attendees regarding their bills, explaining charges, and addressing inquiries.
Ø Submitting insurance claims to various payers (e.g., insurance companies, government programs).
Ø Verifying patient insurance coverage and eligibility.
Ø Following up on outstanding or rejected insurance claims to ensure timely payment.
Ø Working with insurance companies to resolve claim denials and discrepancies.
Ø Managing appeals and disputes related to insurance claims.
Ø Ensuring accurate and timely billing to maximize revenue collection.
Ø Monitoring and analyzing billing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Ø Tracking and managing accounts receivable, including outstanding payments.
Ø Working with other departments (e.g., finance, medical records) to optimize revenue cycle processes.
Ø Staying updated on healthcare billing regulations and compliance requirements.
Ø Ensuring that billing practices adhere to relevant laws and guidelines.
Ø Implementing and maintaining internal controls to prevent billing errors and fraud.
Ø Communicating effectively with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients.
Ø Collaborating with other hospital departments to resolve billing and insurance-related issues.
Providing excellent customer service to patients regarding billing and insurance matters.
