Job Title : Senior OpenEHR Developer

Role Overview

Job Title : Senior OpenEHR Developer / OpenEHR Technical Lead

Location : Hybrid / Remote

Type : Full-time

Experience : 5–7 years (including 2+ years of hands-on openEHR)

Role Summary :

The Senior OpenEHR Developer will architect, develop, and optimize clinical data solutions using the openEHR standard. The role includes designing archetypes and templates, implementing openEHR APIs, building scalable CDR-backed systems, and enabling interoperability through HL7, FHIR, and terminology services. This role is both hands-on and architectural, requiring collaboration with clinicians, architects, and integration teams.

Key Responsibilities :

1. OpenEHR Architecture & Development

Design and model archetypes, templates, and operational templates (OPTs).
Build microservices using openEHR SDKs (Java / .NET / Node / Python).
Write advanced AQL queries for performant clinical data retrieval.
Deploy and configure Clinical Data Repositories (EHRbase, Better CDR).

2. Interoperability & Integrations

Implement FHIR ↔ openEHR mappings.

Use HL7 v2, REST APIs, event-driven architectures.

Integrate with LIS, RIS, HIE, pharmacy, insurer, and national health systems.

Work with terminology servers (SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10).

3. Systems Engineering & Cloud

Build cloud-native health applications (AWS / Azure / GCP).

Use Docker, Kubernetes, and CI / CD pipelines.

Ensure scalable, resilient, and secure deployments.

4. Governance, Security & Compliance

Ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, and NDHM.

Support architecture reviews, documentation, audit trails.

Apply secure coding and privacy-by-design principles.

5. Leadership & Collaboration

Mentor developers and lead technical discussions.

Work closely with clinicians and cross-functional teams.

Translate complex clinical workflows into robust digital models.

Required Skills :

Strong Java or .NET experience.

Expertise in openEHR modelling, AQL, and CDR operations.

Strong understanding of the openEHR Reference Model.

Experience with HL7 / FHIR and terminology integrations.

Desirable Skills :

Experience with Better Studio, Archetype Designer, Template Designer.

Cloud certifications.

Contributions to CKM / open-source.

Knowledge of BPMN / clinical workflow engines.
