We’re Hiring : Senior Engineering Manager – Big Data & Cloud

An established travel technology company is looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Big Data & Cloud Engineering team in Bangalore (Hybrid) .

🌟 Common Accountabilities :

  • Lead and manage a high-performing team — setting objectives, conducting reviews, and driving results.
  • Define the team’s vision aligned with company strategy and translate it into actionable plans.
  • Act as a key reference across multiple domains, anticipating solutions to complex challenges.
  • Optimize efficiency using deep knowledge of policies, procedures, and business objectives.

🌟 Specific Accountabilities :

  • Define and share the technical / functional roadmap and vision.
  • Be accountable for team performance and delivery outcomes.
  • Develop operational plans to address resource challenges.
  • Suggest process improvements, innovative techniques, and operational models.
  • Manage production support issue resolution and customer inquiries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure systems are scalable, stable, and high-performance .
  • Maintain timely communication with the team regarding organizational updates.

    • 💻 Technical Skills & Experience :

  • 10–15 years in Big Data infrastructure & application development / operations.
  • 4–5 years in distributed Azure cloud environments.
  • Proficient in Big Data stacks : Apache Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, Hive, Flume, Sqoop, PostGres, Kubernetes, Oozie, Airflow .
  • Experience with Data Mesh, Databricks, Synapse .
  • Strong understanding of scalability, stability, and security in cloud-based applications.
  • Hands-on with container & virtualization technologies.
  • Knowledge of CI / CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools : Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Zabbix, ELK, Splunk .
  • Bonus : Python, Scala, R, networking fundamentals (TCP / IP, load balancing).
