Key Responsibilities

Installation : Install wiring, lighting, electrical control systems, and power distribution systems in buildings.

Maintenance : Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems to prevent issues and ensure efficient operation.

Repair : Diagnose and repair faulty electrical components, fixtures, wiring, motors, and control systems.

Blueprint Interpretation : Read and understand technical diagrams, blueprints, and wiring schematics to plan and execute electrical layouts.

Troubleshooting : Use diagnostic tools like voltmeters, ammeters, thermal scanners, and cable testers to identify and fix electrical problems.

Safety & Compliance : Ensure all installations and repairs adhere to National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building regulations.

Documentation : Keep records of installations, maintenance, repairs, and servicing information.

Collaboration : Work with other construction specialists, engineers, and architects to design and install complex electrical systems.

Essential Skills and Tools

Technical Knowledge : Understanding of electrical systems, electronic components, and electrical engineering principles.

Diagnostic Tools : Proficiency in using ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners, and other testers.

Hand and Power Tools : Skill with equipment such as conduit benders, drills, saws, screwdrivers, and wire strippers.
