Celonis Implementation Engineer (4–8 Years) – Detailed Job Description
Role Overview
A Celonis Implementation Engineer is responsible for end-to-end deployment of the Celonis EMS (Execution Management System), including data extraction, data modeling, process analysis, dashboard creation, automation setup, and value realization. The role requires both strong technical abilities and business process understanding.
Key Responsibilities
1. Solution Design & Client Engagement
- Work with business and IT stakeholders to define objectives, KPIs, and success criteria for Celonis use cases.
- Conduct requirements workshops, understand process pain points, and translate them into Celonis solution designs.
- Develop implementation roadmaps and align them with client transformation goals.
2. Data Extraction & Integration
Set up data pipelines from SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, ServiceNow, and other systems.Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, cleaning, and transformation.Work with ETL tools, Celonis Data Integration (CData), and APIs for automated data ingestion.Ensure data quality, reliability, and refresh scheduling.3. Process Mining & Data Modeling
Build Celonis data models (Event Logs, Activity tables, KPIs).Create PQL (Process Query Language) queries for defining metrics, filters, and process logic.Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and accuracy.Identify process variants, bottlenecks, conformance issues, and root causes using EMS capabilities.4. Analysis & Visualization
Develop Celonis dashboards, analyses, and action flows aligned with business use cases.Build interactive views, charts, and process maps for stakeholders.Present analytical findings with strong storytelling — root causes, insights, and performance improvements.5. Execution Management & Automations
Configure Action Engine, Signals, and Automations for real-time process improvements.Integrate Celonis with workflow systems (SAP, ServiceNow, CRM, ERP solutions).Build automated alerts, tasks, and triggers for operational efficiency.6. Value Realization & Continuous Improvement
Quantify business impact (cost savings, cycle time reduction, process compliance).Provide best practices for process KPIs and operational excellence.Document technical architecture, data models, and solution configurations.Upskill client teams through training and knowledge-transfer sessions.Required Technical Skills
Strong SQL : Joins, aggregations, subqueries, performance tuning.PQL (Process Query Language) expertise.Data modeling concepts : event logs, fact tables, dimension tables.Hands-on experience with :Celonis EMS (Ibc / App Studio / Analysis Builder)Celonis Data IntegrationAction Engine / Automation StudioExperience with SAP tables and processes (P2P, O2C, AP, AR, Inventory, Manufacturing).Understanding of APIs, Python, or scripting languages (added advantage).Knowledge of ETL tools and data pipelines.Functional & Domain Skills
