CAD Designer / Drafter

The role :

Our client is a growing manufacturing company seeking an experienced CAD Designer / Drafter to support projects from initial concept development and system design through to project handover.

Responsibilities include; but not limited to :

  • Undertaking detailed CAD design of new & existing systems concept designs for all projects (process, pipework, equipment, packaging lines, overall factory floor layouts)
  • Liaising with internal project stakeholders regarding project deadlines & requirements
  • Coordinating with stakeholders across numerous divisions
  • Track progress and review design as required to ensure requirements are met and provide packaging & product samples as required
  • Installation & commissioning of new equipment
  • Support the validation process of new equipment
  • Develop detailed documentation for production & maintenance where required
  • Development of project & system documentation (valve & equipment schedules, operating manuals etc.)
  • Following company standards throughout all project duties
  • General administration duties

To be successful you will possess :

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering and / or Design
  • Proven experience in detail drafting process pipework, ideally in a pharmaceutical, food or chemical industry
  • 3D CAD design & drafting, ideally in Autodesk Inventor
  • High level computer skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and delivery of detailed and demanding projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work under-pressure and effectively collaborate with multiple and varied stakeholders
  • Proactive, ‘can-do’ and positive attitude
