Job Description :

We are seeking a seasoned bookkeeper & payroll administrator with proven expertise in the Canadian trucking and transportation industry. This role is for a professional who can manage full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll, and compliance independently — with precision and efficiency.

Maintaining accurate financial records for fleet operations and freight transactions is an essential task. Processing accounts payable / receivable, including fuel cards, permits, and vendor payments requires attention to detail. Managing payroll, driver settlements, and reimbursements is also a key responsibility. Handling provincial fuel tax reporting and quarterly filings ensures compliance with regulations. Tracking equipment depreciation, maintenance costs, and compliance-related expenses helps to optimize resources. Reconciling bank / credit card accounts and preparing cash flow projections enables informed decision-making.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

• 5+ years of bookkeeping / accounting experience in Canada (transportation / trucking experience strongly preferred)
• Proven track record of handling Canadian payroll administration
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online & Microsoft Excel
• Strong knowledge of Canadian taxes and provincial fuel tax compliance
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote setup with minimal supervision
• High ethical standards, confidentiality, and reliability
