Key Responsibilities Strategy

Drive Bancasurrance in Assets channel including mortgages, LAP, BB BIL, BB LAP, Credit cards and Personal loans

Drive non-life insurance business in Branch banking channel

Undertake competition analysis to ensure Bank is offering best in class products

Good understanding of the insurance industry landscape including sales channels, processes and products which are being used in the industry

Branch / Channel, RM wise business tracking. Publish data and coordinate with ZH / CHs to see reason behind top laggards.

Launching product trainings to drive activation and productivity

Ensure timely circulation of relevant MISs and data feeds between internal stakeholders to ensure proper tracking of business volumes

Developing simple processes to ensure there is acceptance for insurance as a product. Also address bottlenecks being faced by the salesteam on a process front

Ensure timely and thorough execution of business planning files and budget files for internal sales channels

Business

To work closely with internal stakeholders on approving Insurance providers and products

Undertake periodic reviews for these insurers and products

Undertake launch of products across channels.

Overseeing release of Daily, Weekly & Monthly business MIS.

To track & measure effectiveness of Marketing Campaigns

Track business across geographies, products, channels to ensure superior understanding of the business

Processes

To monitor and evaluate operations / processes for quality and effectiveness

Work with Insurers and internal operations units to ensure execution is aligned to laid down process notes

People & Talent

Organise and help develop product as well as sales skills trainings

Drive mindshare amongst teams by organizing training events and recognition events, as applicable

Ensure regulatory and internal certification process is aligned to regulatory and internal requirements

Risk Management

Highlight issues and document in respective forums or with relevant stakeholders

Make recommendations for improvement and coordinate with relevant stakeholders for closure

Work with internal IT and Technology teams to ensure accurate collation and display of Bank's insurance portfolio in relevant dashboard, internal Bank systems including client screens

Be proactive to highlight concerns, undertake Root Cause Analysis and present in relevant risk forums in order to create adequate management awareness around issues while working towards a robust resolution process

Governance

Good understanding of basic IRDAI and RBI regulatory guidelines around Corporate Agency business

Ensure timely implementation of regulations within SCB

Continuous monitoring to check for any gaps in understanding or data collation or data submission or process framework

Incumbent is expected to have a clear understanding of Bank's internal policy and processes around Bancassurance business

Regulatory & Business Conduct

Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.

Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Lead the Banca Team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles : [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.]

Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Ensure adherence to IRDAI and RBI requirements in the country.
