Job Summary : We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Editor to join our publishing team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in editorial management and hands-on expertise in editing manuscripts. The role will involve overseeing the editorial process from submission to publication, ensuring high-quality content, and collaborating with authors, editors, and designers. A strong understanding of the publishing process and editorial standards is essential, along with the ability to work in various publishing tools and other content management systems.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Oversee the entire editorial process, from manuscript submission to final publication.

2. Review, edit, and enhance content for clarity, consistency, and quality, ensuring all material meets the company's editorial standards.

3. Collaborate with authors, freelance editors, designers, and other departments to manage timelines and project deliverables.

4. Manage a team of editors and writers, providing guidance, feedback, and development opportunities.

5. Ensure all content adheres to the company's style guidelines and aligns with the overall publishing vision.

6. Handle content revisions and manage multiple manuscripts concurrently while ensuring deadlines are met.

7. Provide strategic input on content development and book publishing initiatives.

8. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, editorial standards, and best practices.

9. Work closely with the production team to ensure seamless handover of content for design and printing.

10. Assist in developing marketing content and promotional materials when necessary.

11. Use editorial software such as Adobe Acrobat and MS Word for editing and layout work.

12. Strong editing and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.

13. Hands-on experience with manuscript editing, including developmental editing and copyediting.

14. Proficiency in publishing and design tools.

15. Excellent project management and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

16. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.'

17. Experience working with both print and digital publishing platforms.

18. Familiarity with content management systems and online editorial tools.

19. Previous experience of managing a team of writers or editors.
