The Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Manager is required to provide highest standard of professional, scientific, consultative / advisory services in organizational, administrative and educational matters which are relevant to the services offered by Laboratory. They shall maintain the overall responsibility for the operation and administration of the laboratory.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides effective leadership of medical laboratory service, including budget planning and financial management, in accordance with institutional assignment of these responsibilities. Responsible for manpower planning & management.
- Relate and function effectively with applicable accrediting and regulating agencies, appropriate administrative officials, and patient population served and providers of formal agreements when required.
- Design and implement contingency plan to ensure that essential services are available during emergency situations or other conditions when laboratory services are limited or unavailable.
- Define, implement and monitor standards of performance and quality improvement of the medical laboratory services
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
M.Sc. / B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology or related discipline; additional certification in NABL Quality Management preferred.8–12 years of experience in hospital laboratory operations, including at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.Sound knowledge of NABL standards, LIS / HIS systems, and laboratory automation.Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary lab teams and ensure quality, accuracy, and timely reporting.Strong leadership, planning, and coordination skills with focus on patient safety and service excellence.Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, with good communication and problem-solving abilities.
