Position Overview

ABBS invites applications for the position of  Associate Professor of Computer Science , who will also serve as the  Head of the MCA Department . The role demands a dynamic academic leader with strong research credentials, teaching expertise, and the ability to provide strategic direction for the MCA program in alignment with industry trends in AI, Data Science, and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide academic and administrative leadership for the MCA Department.
  • Develop vision, strategy, and roadmap for the MCA program in line with institutional goals and industry needs.
  • Teach advanced courses in Computer Science domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, or related fields.
  • Supervise postgraduate projects, dissertations, and research initiatives.
  • Mentor faculty members and foster an environment of academic excellence and research productivity.
  • Drive industry partnerships, consultancy projects, and collaborations to enhance placement and learning outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with academic standards, regulatory requirements (AICTE, UGC, University), and accreditation processes.
  • Contribute to institutional initiatives, conferences, seminars, and publications.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science / Information Technology / Allied discipline  (mandatory).
  • Minimum  8 years of teaching / research / industry experience  with at least 3 years at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent.
  • Strong research record with publications in reputed peer-reviewed journals (Scopus / ABDC / UGC-Care).
  • Proven experience in academic leadership, program development, or departmental administration.
  • Exposure to emerging technologies and ability to integrate them into curriculum and research.
  • Industry or consultancy experience preferred.
