Job description

Key Responsibilities :

Develop, maintain, and optimize SAS programs using SAS / BASE, SAS SQL, SAS Macros, and various procedures such as Proc SQL, Proc Transpose, etc.
Work on ETL processes, handle large volumes of data, and support data movement and transformation.
Ensure data quality, validation, and integrity through robust data management and QA practices.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and workflows.
Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to support reporting and data integration initiatives.
Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues efficiently and independently.
Document processes, technical specifications, and data flows to support data lineage and audit requirements.

Mandatory Skills :

Strong expertise in SAS programming, including :

SAS / BASE (Data Step programming)

SAS / SQL

SAS Macros

Key procedures like Proc SQL, Proc Transpose, etc.

Good understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.

Knowledge of data validation, data quality, and data lineage methodologies.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and communicate technical topics effectively.

Experience in analyzing complex datasets and supporting reporting / data initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications :

Exposure to tools like Informatica, Power BI, Tableau, or R is a plus.

Understanding of pharma, banking, or healthcare domains is an advantage.

Experience in agile or hybrid project environments.
