Job description

We are a fully licensed UK & Iceland-based travel company — ATOL, ABTOT & Icelandic Tourism Board certified , operating tourismiceland.co.uk .

We’re now rebuilding our platform from WordPress + WooCommerce to a modern React-based booking system — fast, scalable and UX-driven like tui.co.uk.

If you’ve worked with travel APIs, booking engines, flight / hotel systems , this role is for you.

  • Position : Full-Stack Developer
  • Location : Remote
  • Type : Contract / Project-based (Long-Term Opportunity)
  • Experience Required : Travel API experience is mandatory

Preferred Tech Stack

  • Frontend → React (Next.js), TypeScript, Tailwind
  • Backend → Node.js (Express / NestJS)
  • Database → PostgreSQL / MySQL / MongoDB
  • Integrations → Duffel API (Flights) | Ratehawk API (Hotels)

    • Scope of Work :

    Flight Booking via Duffel API

  • UK → Iceland flight search
  • Pax selection (adult / child / infant)
  • Seat, baggage & fare logic
  • PNR creation + booking confirmation

    • Hotels via Ratehawk (API)

  • Reykjavík / Iceland hotel search
  • Filters : rating, amenities, board types, etc.
  • Room detail + image display
  • Booking confirmation + voucher data

    • Package Book

  • Flight + hotel search & results comparison
  • Package breakdown per-person + total price
  • Upgrade options & flexible selections

    • Upsells & Addon

  • Tours (Northern Lights, Golden Circle etc.)
  • Airport transfers, baggage, insurance
  • One-click add → price auto recalculates

    • Mandatory Requirement :

  • Proven experience with Duffel / Ratehawk or other travel APIs
  • Solid React + Backend development capability
  • Experience building live booking systems
  • Portfolio or links to real projects required

    • We’re looking for sharp minds who can think, build and execute — not just code.
