Department : Energy & Sustainability

Location : Bangalore

Reports To : Head of Energy & Sustainability

Role Purpose

The Sustainability Analyst will support NewCold’s commitment to innovation and sustainability by transforming operational and energy data into actionable insights. This role focuses on analyzing trends, correlations, and performance drivers across global sites to enhance energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and optimize resource utilization. The analyst will play a key role in measuring and verifying sustainability outcomes, ensuring alignment with corporate sustainability targets and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Analysis & Insights

  • Collect, process, and analyze operational, environmental, and energy datasets (e.g., from meters, SCADA / BMS systems, production logs, weather data).
  • Identify patterns, anomalies, and efficiency opportunities through quantitative analysis.
  • Develop data models to support sustainability initiatives and reporting.

2. Performance Measurement & Reporting

  • Track and report sustainability KPIs (energy use, emissions, water, waste) across global operations.
  • Support Measurement & Verification (M&V) of energy and resource-saving projects.
  • Translate analytical findings into business-relevant metrics (kWh, cost, CO₂e savings).
  • 3. Forecasting & Modeling

  • Build forecasting models for energy demand and resource consumption.
  • Support scenario modeling and target setting for sustainability and energy efficiency goals.
  • Quantify impacts of operational or capital changes using statistical and causal inference methods.
  • 4. Dashboarding & Visualization

  • Design Power BI dashboards and visual reports to communicate sustainability performance.
  • Provide data-driven insights to Operations, Engineering, and Finance teams to inform decision-making.
  • 5. Collaboration & Implementation

  • Work with site and functional teams to implement data-driven actions for improving sustainability performance.
  • Support sustainability reporting aligned with global frameworks (e.g., GHG Protocol, CDP, SBTi).
  • Assist in the evaluation of new technologies and projects for environmental impact and ROI.

    Experience

  • 0–3 years of experience in sustainability, energy, or environmental data analytics.
  • Exposure to integrating sustainability concepts and projects in an operational or industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with global sustainability guidelines, governmental standards, and corporate reporting frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of statistics, time-series analysis, and data visualization.
  • Business and financial acumen to align projects with cost and sustainability targets.
  • Skills & Competencies

    Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in data analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python or R).
  • Strong statistical and quantitative analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of energy systems, carbon accounting, and sustainability metrics.
  • Experience with data quality validation and automation preferred.
  • Behavioral Skills
