Job description

🔹 About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced Banner DBA to support and manage our Ellucian Banner® ERP environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration, Banner ERP (Banner 9), and related integration tools. This role requires expertise in performance tuning, upgrades, and system optimization while ensuring seamless ERP functionality.

🔹 Key Responsibilities :

  • Install, configure, and upgrade Ellucian Banner® ERP and related tools.
  • Provide full lifecycle support for Banner ERP and Oracle environments (Oracle 19c).
  • Manage database & application installation, configuration, backup, recovery, and cloning.
  • Perform proactive system performance monitoring & tuning (AWR, ASH, optimization).
  • Implement Disaster Recovery strategies and ensure high system availability.
  • Work with Ellucian tools (ESM, Application Navigator, BEIS, Ethos Identity, Workflow, Degree Works, ePrint).
  • Support integration with 3rd-party applications (e.g., AppWorx, Evisions, Canvas LMS).
  • Configure and manage Tomcat / WebLogic environments.
  • Develop shell scripts on RHEL 8 / Linux to automate tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with SAFE (Scaled Agile Framework) and audit standards.

🔹 Key Skills & Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of experience with Ellucian Banner® software suite (Banner 9 preferred).
  • Strong Oracle DBA skills (RMAN, OEM, Dataguard, PL / SQL scripting).
  • Hands-on with Tomcat & WebLogic administration .
  • Experience in database backup / recovery, disaster recovery, and system performance tuning.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux / RHEL 8 scripting.
  • Exposure to Single Sign-On (SSO), Banner 9 Admin Pages, Ethos Identity .
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • Experience with observability tools (New Relic preferred).
