Founded in 2010 by passionate animal lovers, YODA (Youth Organization in Defence of Animals) is a registered charity based in India dedicated to improving human-animal coexistence. YODA's mission is to create a city free from animal cruelty by providing prompt medical services for abandoned and injured animals, behavioral rehabilitation, sheltering and rehabilitating homeless animals, vaccinating and sterilizing stray animals, and promoting education and awareness about animal welfare.
Position Summary :
The Manager – Animal Welfare Education Programs will design, lead, and execute large-scale educational initiatives to promote compassion, awareness, and responsible behavior toward animals across schools, colleges, and communities. The role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in program management, curriculum design, partnerships, and public engagement.
Key Responsibilities :
Program Design & Strategy
- Develop and implement a comprehensive animal welfare education strategy for schools, colleges, and communities aligned with the NGO’s mission.
- Design age-appropriate, culturally relevant, and evidence-based educational content (modules, toolkits, workshops, digital content).
- Establish measurable goals and impact metrics for all education programs.
Program Execution
Plan, coordinate, and execute educational presentations, workshops, and events in collaboration with schools, colleges, community groups, and local authorities.Train and support educators, volunteers, and facilitators to deliver program content effectively.Integrate creative, interactive, and experiential learning methods (storytelling, art, digital media, gamified learning, etc.).Partnerships & Outreach
Build partnerships with educational institutions, government departments (education, animal husbandry, etc.), and other NGOs to scale outreach.Represent the organization at conferences, seminars, and stakeholder meetings to advocate for animal welfare education.Team Leadership & Management
Lead a small team of educators, coordinators, and volunteers.Manage budgets, timelines, and reporting for all education-related projects.Ensure monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement of program delivery and outcomes.Communications & Advocacy
Collaborate with communications and media teams to promote education initiatives and success stories.Support campaigns and advocacy efforts through educational content and youth engagement.Qualifications & Experience :
GraduateAdded plus would be degree in Education, Social Work, Environmental Studies, Veterinary Sciences, Communications, or related field.5–8 years of experience in education program management, preferably within NGOs or social sector organizations.Proven experience in curriculum design, training, and community engagement.Strong understanding of animal welfare, environmental ethics, and humane education principles.Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver projects on time and within budget.Preferred Attributes :
