Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and technically proficient Assistant Manager – Purchase (Mechanical) to support procurement operations, vendor development, and supply chain management. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of mechanical components, manufacturing processes, and a keen eye for cost efficiency and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities :
- Support Procurement Strategies : Assist in implementing efficient procurement strategies to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Vendor Management : Support vendor identification, evaluation, and relationship management to ensure high performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Technical Evaluation : Read and interpret engineering drawings to assess procurement needs and vendor capabilities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with R&D, engineering, production, and stores teams to align procurement activities with business needs.
- New Vendor & Part Development : Assist in developing new vendors and sourcing mechanical parts / components as per requirements.
- Supplier Audits & Assessments : Participate in supplier evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with quality and capacity expectations.
- Claims Handling : Manage and follow up on vendor claims related to defective or short-supplied materials.
- Data Analysis & Reporting : Maintain procurement data, analyze trends, and generate reports for strategic decisions.
- Compliance : Ensure supply chain practices align with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.
