Oracle DB L2 Administrator Support Role

Role Overview

An Oracle Database Administrator L2 Support is responsible for maintaining monitoring and optimising Oracle database environments This role focuses on operational stability patching performance tuning and incident resolution ensuring high availability and compliance with security standards

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain Oracle databases to ensure optimal performance and availability

Monitor database health using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager and respond to s promptly

Troubleshoot and resolve L2level database issues escalating to L3 when necessary

Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement preventive measures

Apply Oracle patches RU RUR PSU CPU and perform prepostpatch validations

Coordinate with application teams for patching windows and rollback planning

Execute and validate backups using RMAN and Data Pump

Perform recovery operations as per defined SLAs

Analyse AWRASH reports and optimise SQL queries and database parameters

Implement database security best practices manage user roles and ensure compliance with audit requirements

Maintain accurate documentation of configurations patch inventory and operational procedures

Provide regular health check and performance reports

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of Oracle Database architecture 11g12c19c

Proficiency in SQL PLSQL and UnixLinux shell scripting

Experience with RMAN Data Pump and Oracle Enterprise Manager

Familiarity with Grid Infrastructure RAC environments and ASM

Understanding of ITIL processes for incident change and problem management

Basic knowledge of automation tools Shell Python Ansible is an advantage

Certifications Oracle Certified Associate OCA or higher preferred

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities

Good communication and collaboration skills for working with crossfunctional teams

Ability to work in 24x7 support environments and handle oncall duties
