About the Role

We’re seeking a Content Evaluator, Writing & Translation to evaluate and qualify professional freelancers across diverse writing and language-based categories.

This role involves reviewing portfolios, writing samples, and translation work to determine whether the applicant meets the high-quality standards for professional-level recognition. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that every approved freelancer demonstrates excellence in writing style, subject matter expertise, and linguistic accuracy.

The ideal candidate combines strong editorial judgment with a deep understanding of content creation, copywriting, translation, and localization quality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Pro Evaluation (Freelancer Vetting)

  • Evaluate professional freelancers applying for the Writing & Translation categories, including :
  • Content Writing : Articles, Blogs, Website Content, Scriptwriting, Creative Writing, Speechwriting, Research & Summaries, Podcast Writing.
  • Editing & Critique : Proofreading, Academic Editing, AI Content Editing, Writing Advice.
  • Book & eBook Publishing : Book Writing, Editing, Beta Reading, Literature Translation.
  • Career Writing : Resume Writing, Cover Letters, LinkedIn Profiles, Job Descriptions.
  • Business & Marketing Copy : Brand Voice, Case Studies, Product Descriptions, Email Copy, Ad Copy, UX Writing.
  • Translation & Transcription : Translation, Transcription, Localization, Interpretation.
  • Industry Specific Content : Finance, Health, Tech, Marketing, Real Estate, Politics.
  • Assess applicants’ writing / translation samples for :
  • Grammar, syntax, and readability.
  • Tone, creativity, and structure.
  • Technical accuracy and subject matter expertise.
  • Adherence to professional editorial standards.
  • Approve or reject freelancers based on defined rubrics for quality, originality, and clarity.

2. Quality Benchmarking

  • Maintain consistency across evaluations by applying predefined editorial rubrics.
  • Identify trends or common quality issues across applicants and suggest guideline improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to fine-tune standards for different writing and translation niches.
  • 3. Category-Specific Review

  • Validate sample portfolios and linked projects for authenticity.
  • Evaluate writing diversity across tones, audiences, and industries.
  • For translators, verify language accuracy, context sensitivity, and localization quality.
  • 4. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare structured evaluation notes for each freelancer profile reviewed.
  • Maintain transparent records of evaluation decisions and scoring patterns.
  • Support internal quality meetings with category insights and data-driven feedback.
  • Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in English, Journalism, Linguistics, Mass Communication, or related field.
  • 1+ years of professional experience in writing, editing, translation, or content quality management.
  • Strong command of English grammar, syntax, and tone adaptation.
  • Excellent editorial judgment and ability to identify writing potential quickly.
  • Familiarity with at least one specialized writing niche (e.g., marketing copy, SEO writing, or academic writing).
  • Basic understanding of content optimization, localization, and AI-assisted writing tools (preferred).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and documentation discipline.
  • Preferred Attributes

  • Prior experience in content moderation, editorial QA, or marketplace evaluation.
  • Working knowledge of multi-language content review or translation quality frameworks.
  • Comfortable reviewing multiple submissions daily with high accuracy.
  • Balanced approach to creativity and compliance, recognizing both art and standard.
