Junior or accountant is responsible for a range of financial and administrative tasks, including recording financial transactions, preparing journal entries, and assisting with accounts payable and receivable. They also help prepare financial reports and statements, perform bank reconciliations, and support month-end closing activities under the supervision of a senior accountant.
Key responsibilities
Record keeping : Accurately record daily financial transactions and maintain general ledger accounts.
Accounts payable and receivable : Process invoices and manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
Financial reporting : Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
Bank reconciliation : Reconcile company bank accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
Month-end close : Perform tasks required for the month-end closing process.
Journal entries : Prepare and post journal entries.
Audit support : Assist with internal and external audits and compliance checks.
Payroll : Assist with payroll processing and tax filings.
Required skills and qualifications
Education : Typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Technical skills : Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel) and general ledger systems.
Accounting knowledge : Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.

Requirements
Work experience as an Accountant. Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks. Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
